Renaissance is the upcoming seventh studio album by American singer Beyonce, set to be released on July 29, 2022, through Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records. It is the first out of three albums to come out from the singer's pand recording sessions. It features guest appearances from Beam, Grace Jones and Tems. The album's lead single "Break My Soul" was released June 20, 2022.

In August 2021, during her cover story for Harper's Bazaar, Beyonce revealed that she had been working on her seventh studio album for over a year, stating that "with all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again. I feel a renaissance emeg, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible."

Beyonce began to tease a new album on June 7, 2022, by removing her profile picture from all of her social media platforms. Four days later, the text "What is a B7" appeared on the homepage of the singer's official website. Fans noticed that the website also had placeholders for her upcoming seventh and eighth studio albums. Beyonce officially announced the album and released the pre-sale for Renaissance on her website and digital streaming platforms the following day.

Discussing the album's themes and her creative intention, Beyonce explained her desire to "create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom."

On June 20, 2022, Beyonce announced the album's lead single, "Break My Soul", would be released at midnight Eastern on June 21, to coincide with the 2022 summer solstice. The song appeared on music streaming service Tidal hours early, on June 20, and a lyric video was later released on YouTube.

After first joining TikTok in December 2021, Beyonce posted her first video, a compilation of "dancing, vibing, and sig along" to Renaissance's lead single, "Break My Soul", on July 14, 2022. Further, she made her entire catalogue available for use on the platform, attracting significant media attention.

Two days before the release, on July 27, the album arrived in retailers in France. The studio album would eventually leak onto the internet. Though her last leak was during her last traditional roll out, with her fourth studio album 4, the leak came as a shock, as Beyonce's operation is famously among the most secure in the music industry, renowned for the surprise drop of her 2013 self-titled album and an overall air of secrecy.
