"The Old Book od Astronomy" is the latest album release of the electronic ,lounge project "The 5th Galaxy Orchestra" who has explored a range of musical styles in their albums for the last 12 years

This work is mostly inspired from the 90s electronic music scene

It remains my favorite decade in terms of music and bands like Massive Attack, Morcheeba, Saint Etienne, Thievery Corporation , Air, Hooverphonic, Daft Punk, Stereolab, Gentle People, who started their music journey during that decade were an invaluable inspiration for me

So i would describe this album as a creative mixture of 90s dowmtempo ,chillout moods with fresh electronic sounds of today .

I always loved to incorporate various samples especialy from 50s and 60s songs in my musicand this album is no exception

These samples are almost everywhere vocals ,strings arrangements , brass, soundscapes are usually modified samples from my dusted old records .

It would be more easy for me to have new original recordings instead , but i would miss the nostalgic beauty of these sounds and the illussion to give a new life to something that passed..
