The ultimate discovery from Elton John's extensive back catalogue, 'Jewel Box', includes a selection of insightful pieces selected by Elton John himself; rarities from the earliest stages of his and Bernie Taupin's musical journey; 30 years of B-sides and songs featured in Elton's best-selling and critically acclaimed memoir of 2019, 'Me'. The eight CDs come in a beautiful hardcover book, packed in an outer slipcase. Each section contains detailed notes, and for 'Deep Cuts' there is a track-by-track commentary by Elton. The set contains an unprecedented number of previously unheard, unreleased tracks from 1967 - 1969, the years that cemented the foundation of the iconic John Taupin partnership: "Jewel Box" is truly a treasure trove for Elton John fans.

More than 80 of the collection's 148 songs are being digitally published for the first ; 60 of them have never been available in any format before.

"It has been an absolute pleasure to go through every phase of my career in such detail for Jewel Box," John said in a press release. "When I hear those long lost tracks again, it's hard for me to understand how productive Bernie and I were in the early days. The songs just poured out of us and the band was just amazing in the studio.

I always want to go forward and look to the future in everything I do, but to have during the lockdown to take stock and to take those moments from each era from my memory was a joy. As a passionate record collector, this project really inspired me, and I couldn't be happier with the level of craftsmanship that goes into such a carefully curated, lovingly constructed box set. I'm sure my fans will enjoy it as much as I do".
