She was the first female in country music to sell a million records for, "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels," in 1952. She held the record for many years as having the most #1 singles on the country charts ~ 21! Also, she was awarded the honor of being "Best Female Country Singer," from 1952-1965 by the various music publications and organizations (Billboard, Cashbox, Record World, Jukebox Records, just to name a few). No other female country singer has been able to beat this record ~ and never will!!
