Disney+'s Stal soundtrack features a compilation of mellow cover songs, along with original tracks by lead actress Grace VanderWaal - the winner of America's Got Talent season 11. Directed by Julia Hart (Fast Color) and based on Jerry Spinelli eponymous 2000 novel, Disney+'s Stal focuses on the friendship between Arizona teenagers Susan "Stal" Caraway (VanderWaal) and Leo Borlock (Graham Verchere). At school, Stal performs a birthday song for the introverted Leo, who then makes a conscious effort to befriend the girl. They form a romantic bond, and Stal even becomes a musical good luck charm for the football team. But the young lovers discover just how petty teenagers can be after Stal refuses to fully conform. Stal co-stars Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) and Darby Stanchfield (Scandal).

Overall, the Stal soundtrack doesn't necessarily feature any heavy music. Instead, VanderWaal performs covers of soft rock songs that were originally released in the '60s,'70s, and '80s.
