This four disc set is sold as remastered and while most of the tracks sound good, there are quite a few where I could hear the record scratches quite clearly and three tracks have jumps in them so that's disappointing as I have some perfectly good copies on other CD's of these tracks. The main plus I found is that it is the first of many compilations I have of Gordon Macrae where the tracks have been assembled, pretty much as they must have been released and the listener can hear how Gordon's sig style changed from Sinatra's sound of the 1940's to his own distinctive voice of the later 40's and 1950's when he sounded more powerful. These CD's do not cover his most powerful performances from the operettas he recorded in the 50's, just the pop songs and film covers he did. There are several tracks that I hadn't heard before which is another small bonus. Overall, could have been better but not 5 stars as I would have liked but still an interesting addition to my collection. Not as good as Jasmine's box set last year though.
